This attack is the latest in a series of attacks on the property, the forth in six tension filled weeks. Attacks have been aimed at Protestants living in the town in North Antrim.
John Finlay who was on the scene said:
“I call upon all such attacks to halt. They have to stop now. Enough is enough. Republicans are in a continual campaign to terrorise Protestants out of their homes in Rasharkin. This Orange Hall has been attacked many times, repeatedly over the last month as well as Protestant homes being targeted by Republicans. Many Protestants have already left the area and many more are considering it as they feel they are being terrorised out of their homes. This situation is nothing short of ethnic cleansing. The people who do this are vermin and sick. They are causing many people in the town, not just Protestants, great stress and worry. The majority of people do not support this. People want peace, not a battle a day.” said the DUP councillor.
