I am a member of the largest Unionist Party in Northern Ireland, the Ulster Democratic and Unionist Party (DUP). In 2003 my party received tremendous support from the Ulster people and returned my party with thirty-three MLA's (Member of the Northern Ireland Assembly). My party received further support in 2005 when we returned nine MP's, reducing the Ulster Unionists to just one.
In the 2007 Assembly election we returned a total of thirty-six MLA's including three for North Antrim - Dr Ian Paisley MP, Ian Paisley Jnr and Mervyn Storey.
I am currently Chairman of the DUP North Antrim Constituency Association and have served on Ballymoney Borough Council since 1998. I was Mayor from 2006 to 2009. I am currently Chairman of the Development Committee.
