Ballymoney councillor John Finlay has asked Jim Allister if he is going to 'dictate' the spending of £25,000 on a by-election in Ballymoney and asked how he intends to stand over his decision when facing the rate-payers of the Borough.
Playing on the words used by former TUV councillor Charlie Tosh, where he called Jim Allister a 'dictator' John questions the future of the TUV, who are haemorrhaging elected representatives and questions Jim Allister's motives for power.
John Finlay said:
“The TUV seem to be in meltdown after the gradual loss of councillors not only in Belfast but in Ballymena. Allister has been questioned on his leadership style, after being called a 'dictator' by former member Charlie Tosh. Perhaps this is a reflection of a man with a selfish agenda.
I want to ask Mr. Allister if and why he is going to dictate to the people of Ballymoney Borough Council to fork out £25k for a by-election that will only serve the selfish interests of the Jim Allister party.
It is clear that the TUV are slowly melting away. Jim only seeks to 'divide and conquer' Unionism for his own selfish and strategic interests. Jim just has an axe to grind against the DUP, the party that is leading and working for Unionism.” the DUP councillor said.
