FINLAY CONDEMNS ATTACKS ON ORANGE HALLS

Ballymoney Councillor John Finlay has condemned another spate of attacks on Orange Halls in the North Antrim area in the last couple of days. Responding to two attacks on Tullaghans Independent Orange Hall and Dunloy Orange Hall, Councillor Finlay has described the attacks as 'despicable' and said that those who carried them out are 'sick' and sectarian out to create tension between the unionists and nationalists living in the area.

John said:

“I out rightly condemn these attacks, which have been the second spate of attacks on our Orange culture in the last couple of days. These attacks are clearly actions of sectarian thugs out to cause tension and anger within the loyalist and unionist family. After the reports yesterday it is clear that these sick individuals went out last night deliberately to commit acts of sectarianism by vandalising these halls and seek to create tension within the local community.

I once again call upon leaders in the Republican community to act and work to stop future attacks before the situation gets out of control.” the DUP Councillor said.
