FINLAY CONDEMNS SECTARIAN ATTACK IN RASHARKIN

DUP Ballymoney Councillor John Finlay has condemned a sectarian attack on a Protestant man in Rasharkin. This is the second attack on the man this year.
Last night his car, which was only two weeks old, along with his house was attacked with paint. The back window of the car was also smashed.

Sectarian attacks have been a regular occurrence this year in the town with attacks on a number of Protestant homes as well as the local Orange Hall.

Speaking today John Finlay said:

“I condemn this attack on the property of a Protestant man. This man has been the subject of intimidation by local Republican thugs.

His car, which is only two weeks old was attacked with paint along with his house. The back window of his car was also smashed.

I believe that this is another attempt by Republicans to target and chase out the local Protestant population.

This attack was blatantly sectarian. It comes after a tension year fueled by Republican violence in the small town.

I call upon anyone with information to bring it forward to the PSNI.” the DUP councillor said.
